The Immortal Ascension, a fantasy wuxia drama, utilized a fully integrated virtual production pipeline to execute its most technically demanding sequences. Moving away from conventional wire rigging, the production team employed xR technology to film high-speed sword-flight combat and aerial traversal with a focus on physics-based realism and actor safety.

Technical Highlights
Real-Time Data Capturehecoos xR/VP recorded and synchronized all camera metadata, including aperture, focus, and motion paths during the shoot. By delivering this data with zero output delay and no lens distortion, the production eliminated the manual data reconstruction stage in post-production.
Low-Latency Synchronization
The platform enabled real-time coordination between robotic arm movements and Unreal Engine asset animations. This hardware-level synchronization removed timing drift, ensuring the virtual environment responded instantly to physical camera shifts.
1:1 Previsualization Transfer
Device position data from pre-production testing was stored and reconstructed precisely for principal photography. FBX files from Maya were imported directly into hecoos xR/VP at 1:1 scale, allowing robotic arm paths to be reproduced without on-set recalibration.
The consolidation of camera capture, multi-device synchronization, and pre-production data transfer into a single platform significantly reduced the post-production workload. This streamlined workflow maintained total visual consistency across all aerial sequences while meeting the rigorous delivery schedule for a major streaming premiere.
