Farewell My Concubine is one of the most enduring works in Chinese opera. It is a sweeping tragedy reimagined for the modern era through virtual production. To bring this cultural heritage to a live broadcast stage, the production required a technically rigorous environment with zero margin for error.
Specifications
LED Volume: 10m×5m LED wall paired with a 10m×5m LED floorHardware: 2 hecoos xR/VP media servers (Parallel Rendering & Compositing)
Camera Tracking: Telescoping jib arms across the full volume
Platform: Live TV Broadcast
Challenge & Solution
The scale of the production demanded absolute precision in calibration. Every surface, camera angle, and jib movement had to be perfectly synchronized before the live broadcast. Utilizing the hecoos xR/VP system, the EnlightV technical team completed the full calibration process in just five hours. By dedicating one server to rendering and another to compositing, the pipeline remained stable under the high-pressure demands of a live gala.
